Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Dopamine Doctor ("we", "us", "our") is an educational coaching service. We are not a medical provider and do not offer medical advice. Questions? Email support@dopaminedoctor.app.

2. What we collect

• Account information: email address and hashed password.
• Programme data: daily check-in answers, screen time logs, journal entries, mood scores.
• Chat messages: your conversations with the AI coaching assistant.
• Payment information: processed by Stripe. We store only a Stripe customer ID - no card details.
• Usage analytics: page views and feature usage to improve the product.
• Push notification tokens (if you opt in).

3. Behavioural and sensitive data you record

The programme works by asking you to track your own habits over 30 days. In plain terms, this means we collect the behavioural information you choose to enter, including:

• Your daily check-in answers (whether you completed each day, how you felt, mood and reflection notes).
• Screen-time figures you log, such as daily hours, phone pickups, and your most-used apps.
• Lapse and relapse logs you record if you slip, including what triggered it, how long it lasted, how you felt, and any notes you add.
• Optional sensitive entries on Day 4 (the "stimulation audit"). This day invites you to record private behaviours such as caffeine, sugar, and pornography or masturbation counts. These fields are entirely optional, you can leave any of them blank, and the app treats them as a judgement-free record kept solely to personalise your coaching.

This information is private to your account. We do not use it for advertising, and we never sell it.

4. How we use your data

• To operate and personalise your 30-day programme.
• To generate AI coaching responses (see Section 5).
• To send transactional emails (password reset, receipts) via Resend.
• To process payments via Stripe.
• To improve the product through aggregated, anonymised analytics.

5. AI coaching and Anthropic

To generate your personalised coaching responses, your chat messages and relevant programme data (such as your check-ins, screen-time figures, lapse logs, and the optional Day-4 entries described above) are sent to and processed by a third-party AI provider, Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI models. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf to produce coaching replies and handles it under their own privacy policy and data-protection commitments. We share only what is needed to generate your coaching, and we do not use your data to train AI models.

6. Accountability partners

If you choose to pair with an accountability partner, we share a deliberately limited summary of your progress with that partner so they can support you. Your partner can see only: your current streak, whether you have checked in today, the badges you have earned, and a "tough day" flag if you have marked that you are struggling. Your partner can never see the data behind these signals, including your check-in answers, screen-time figures, lapse or relapse logs, the optional Day-4 sensitive entries, your journal notes, or your chat conversations with the AI coach. Pairing is optional, and you can end a partnership at any time.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers listed above (Anthropic, Stripe, Resend) strictly to operate the service, and, in the limited form described in Section 6, with an accountability partner you choose to pair with. All providers are contractually required to protect your data.

8. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email support@dopaminedoctor.app.

10. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

11. Children

Dopamine Doctor is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
